Meet the Candidate

Candidate Statement:

East County is not where I grew up, but I am so grateful to call it home. It is an amazing area, and this community is one I want to see lifted up and growing in the way that is best for us, not anywhere else.

I was born and raised in Oregon and moved to the east coast for college. Every day I was away I missed this beautiful place I am from. I know that sounds hyperbolic, but I can assure you it is not. Oregon is so easy to take for granted when it’s all you have known, so I thought I wanted something else. Out east I saw overcrowding, people unable to afford to live, and restrictions and taxation that kept people down instead of lifting them up. I thought that would end when I came home, but sadly it did not. In the decade I was gone, Portland saw a huge population boom that the city and state were not prepared for. This resulted in many of our citizens experiencing hardships. It is time for economic and social growth to catch up.

If elected, I want to work with others to see job creation, housing solutions, and less regulation on new entrepreneurs. There are a lot of easy outs that seem good on paper, but actually keep the most vulnerable people in our community where they are. Empowering our citizens to take charge of their own lives and create the Oregon they want to live in is vital.

Thank you for taking the time to vote, and to make your voice heard. Whether you vote for me, or one of my very qualified opponents, I thank you for reading this and being a part of our elections process.
